How much to offer for a three yo Bosch washer/dryer

DH (and sometimes me as well) have been living in a corporate rental with his work for the last three years. All the white goods, TV etc were supplied new by the relocation company. He will shortly be moving home, and I would really like the W/D from the rental as it’s so much better than the hotpoint we have at home. DH asked if it was possible to buy it, and they said to make an offer and they’d consider it. No idea what to offer though. By the time he comes home it will be 3.5 years old. It’s £800 on AO new. Any ideas?

I'd bear in mind you have no guarantees or warranty buying second hand from them, but also that they will have to pay to replace it so won't accept something small.

Opposite situation but when selling our last house we included the white goods for £50-100 per item.

Just get a new one from AO.

Using straight line asset depreciation on an life of 7 years gives a £115 a year depreciation. So that's £400 off.

However I think it makes more sense to offer market rate which is about £150

Thanks, I’d been thinking maybe about £250, so it doesn’t sound as if I’m being totally unreasonable. When we move out the landlord wants everything removed as he rents it without appliances so I don’t know if the relo company would actually have much use for all these older appliances anyway - everyone on long projects seem to get new.

I'd offer £150 as if they're having to get rid of it the disposable and removal costs will be close to that.
