Wood and Lino floors. Bona? Mop?

Have had a dyson v8 since new year and it’s been amazing.
Is there something equivalently quick and easy to replace my mop and bucket for Lino, that I can also use on parquet wood floor?
Bona spray mop thing?

I'm picking up a Karcher Hard Floor cleaner tomorrow. It vacs and mops at the same time. Will let you know how I get on.

That sounds exciting, let me know.
I just want something quick and easy that doesn’t involve getting a bucket out and all that faff

Ooh, Wowfudge I’ve been looking at those. Let us know what you think

I just bought a bog standard spray mop from Beldray (about 15 quid) and fill it with wood floor cleaner. It was a happy day when I threw out my mop bucket!
I give it a once over with a shark steam mop once a week because I want to justify the 150 quid I spent on it but realistically I could do it once a month and it would be fine.

I've picked up and tried out my second hand Karcher hard floor cleaner and I'm really pleased. I intended to only clean the floor in the hall and downstairs loo tonight but did the whole kitchen floor too as I was on a roll.

It propels itself and is easy to use. You don't have to use Karcher's own brand cleaning fluids, which is just as well as you have to order online or go to a Karcher centre. I used a bit of Flash.

The water in the waste tank was filthy. I've clearly been a slattern where floor mopping is concerned.

ScrubMyfloors · 13/03/2019 22:39

@wowfudge I’m really tempted...found one second hand locally and umming and ahhing about it.
Have only got dining room, galley kitchen and 2 small bathrooms to do though. Suspect it’s overkill and should probably go for spray mop instead

They're not cheap, that's for sure. I've never liked the idea of a spray mop because, and I fully admit I may be wrong, it looks like you're just wiping cleaning stuff around rather than actually lifting dirt off the floor.

ScrubMyfloors · 14/03/2019 10:35

Agreed, and read that the spray part can miss the floor and hit walls/furniture.
And my floor is filthy due to dog and toddler grub Grin

wow I guess it depends how often you use it and what you're trying to clean up. I use mine every evening before bed, and my steam mop once weekly so it keeps everything nice and clean. For every day spills (knocking juice on the floor etc) it's brilliant because you don't need to get out the bucket etc or plug in the steamer.
I think if I didn't have time to mop daily, I wouldn't use it because you're right, if dirt has built up it does sort of just push it around.

Myusernameismud · 14/03/2019 12:16

Also, the pad part of mine is velcro'd on so I just chuck it in the wash once a week with all the other cleaning cloths etc.

wowfudge · 14/03/2019 12:25

Prior to getting the Karcher cleaner, I used an emop, but found having to manually rinse and squeeze out the mop head a pain. I'm looking forward to cleaning the living room parquet at the weekend now

ScrubMyfloors · 14/03/2019 16:49

Have looked at an emop today. Tempted, but the microfibre put me off. Trying to use more natural fibres. But then that rules out the Karcher too. I think I need to use a mop!
