How to use the conservatory??

I would love to use our conservatory as a play room/dining room, but 75% of the year it’s just too cold. It has half height brick walls then glass at the top. We do have a radiator in there which hardly makes a difference. The floor is freezing stone tiles. We sometimes use an oil heater but I’m quite conscious that these use a lot of electric! Does anyone have any advice on how we could make it more useable with an idea of costs involved? . LO is only 7 weeks currently so I know we will need to alter the floor somehow!

Depends on budget of course.

Big job and £ - underfloor heating. Or if that's a bit drastic , carpeting the floor I know they're not the in thing now but my DgM conservatory was carpeted in a dusk/rosey pink carpet and it looks really nice. Even a few nice big rugs will make the difference.

Thermal/fabric blinds/curtains? Usually though this is a professional job and again not necessarily the cheapest, unless you're really good at measuring and sewing and make your own.

We inherited a conservatory when we moved. We have rugs on the floor and an oil heater which does warm it up really quickly. The floor is freezing- I'd prioritise a thick rug.

I don't particularly like the conservatory but it does mean the house isn't covered in toys which makes a huge difference trying to keep the place presentable.
