What's your favourite air freshener?

Just that really. I love my home to smell gorgeous but not chemically if you see what I mean. I use Darcys wax melts which are gorgeous but only available on line or from an agent.
Interested to know what others recommend that I could buy in a regular shop.
TIA.

An open window. Why would you want to use carcinogenic chemicals in your home? I find it baffling, sorry.

DramaAlpaca · 27/02/2019 15:29

I'm with haba. An open window for me too.

MrsTerryPratcett · 27/02/2019 15:30

Only came on to say an open window and was thoroughly beaten to it.

MsSquiz · 27/02/2019 15:35

I use the Aldi Reed diffusers in lime, basil & mandarin (Jo Malone dupes) as I can't just leave windows open with 2 house cats,

I really like them as they aren't too strong, don't give you a headache, but you just get a nice fresh scent from them as you walk past. I have 1 on my hall table downstairs & 1 on the hall windowsill upstairs

My favourite air freshener is fresh air. Why deliberately introduce unnecessary complex organic chemicals into your environment?

I'm sorry recklessgran, I didnteam to trash your thread Blush

NigelGresley · 27/02/2019 18:41

Someone will be along soon suggesting you put zoflora in your hoover bag and spray fabric conditioner on your bedsheets.
Don’t do it!!

recklessgran · 27/02/2019 19:23

Don't worry @haba I'm not having a great day either - appreciate the apology. I do open windows and like fresh air and as far as I know my house doesn't smell, I just happen to like lovely fragrances.
Ha! Ha! @NigelGresley - God help me now as I own up to having a bottle of Zoflora [Linen Fresh] in the cupboard.

I really like a nice reed diffuser. I get something from TK Max every now and again. If I have the money I'll get some nice flowers. Hyacinths make the house smell amazing!

BlueMerchant · 27/02/2019 20:05

Fox&Ivy at Tesco room sprays and reed diffusers. Topaz one is beautiful.

Beebumble2 · 28/02/2019 07:30

Open windows for a short time and fresh flowers. Daffodils smell beautiful in a room. The perfume is so delicate that it’s completely lost in a shop. A couple of £1 bunches will be amazing.

PETRONELLAS · 28/02/2019 07:32

Daffodils often smell pissy. They really do.

BlueMerchant · 28/02/2019 08:40

I find daffodils smell awful too. OP did say she opens windows.( Think the vast majority of us do this daily) What she was asking was for recomendations on fragrances she can use to make her home smell gorgeous.

mrsoutnumbered · 28/02/2019 10:27

I don't buy much of this any more as I'm trying to cut down (on chemicals and spend) but I really like the sainsburys lavender reed diffuser. Its only £3 or £4.

I have an air wick pure spray in 'relaxing' in the downstairs loo to save smelly poo embarrassment when guests are here.

Holidayshopping · 01/03/2019 18:55

I like the Price Open Window candles and diffusers-they smell really lovely.

MrsCherry · 01/03/2019 19:04

I use essential oils on reed diffusers.

Bowerbird5 · 01/03/2019 19:41

Too cold to open windows up here although I did have the back door open on Wednesday. I use essential oils on pine cones for Christmas and on other natural seed cases etc. I have some candles sometimes.

I use Zoflora to wash the kitchen floor. As I have a cat and a chicken who likes to sneak in to eat the cats food and sometimes shits on the floor.
