Skirting slime, please don't judge

I had my lounge skirting board painted a lovely mint green early last year. I tend to just wipe a wetwipe over them occasionally while I'm in there and my little ones playing. Well for one reason or another they haven't been wiped for a few weeks months and now they seem to have a dusty slime on them which a wipe just won't shift.
How would you tackle them?

I use a bit of ciff...not a lot and don't scrub but it removes things like that easily. It's abrasive so you need to be gentle.

Thanks FF will try the ciff. Is nobody else going to own up to a bit of skirting slime 🤭

Its possible that the slime is wet wipe residue gunked up then with the dust over the top. I would ditch using wet wipes (bad for the environment anyway) and use a damp cloth. For removing - yes to CIF or any of those bathroom cleaners that say they remove soap scum.

I found when I used to use flash type wipes to clean the banisters it seemed to melt the paint and fetch it off a bit, best to use a damp cloth

I never clean my skirting boards and have never had slime, so I'd agree it's the wet wipes causing the problem!

A damp cloth is just as effective as a wet wipe for household cleaning, cheaper and better for the environment too.
