Is this a thing?

Please help!

So I've been ill for a couple of years now, in and out of hospital and when I'm well the kids take priority so I've kept on top of the housework, the vital things like dishes and washing, but the big stuff and underneath stuff has kinda gotten on top of me. Now the bathroom and kitchen in particularly are really grimy (black grout everywhere and please don't look at the skirting boards!) and the thought of tackling it now really gets me down.

So I'm wondering, I don't need a regular cleaner but I'd love if somebody could just come in, sort it all out and get it to the point where my regular weekly cleans can then keep on top of it. Is this a thing? Can something like this be done? How much would I be looking at?

Yes, you can get a one-off deep clean. Lots of people do it before vacating a property. Google domestic cleaners and start ringing around.

Yes you can book a deep clean. It would probably be £100 upwards for 5 hours or more.

A deep clean, that sounds what I'm after, thank you!

Oh god, before vacating a property? Will they think I'm a disgusting person having to have this while still living in the property?

No, they won't! I only mentioned that as an example of how it isn't an unusual request to make. Loads of people get them done for all sorts of reasons.

Ah thank you, that makes me feel better! Thank you so much, I'll start asking round my local area for companies now.

Totally a thing. Please don't feel embarrassed. You do pay a premium on top of a regular hourly slot fee. I think £15-20 ph sounds about right, depending who you book and where you are.

I know people who pay for yearly deep cleans and if I had the money, I would be on that.

Will you feel better about it if you call it a ‘spring clean’ Grin

Call round and get some quotes. But lose the guilt!
