Washing machine that does proper spin on quick wash

I need a new washing machine. Anyone know of a machine that actually bloody uses its full proper spin (at least 1400+) on a quick wash, and doesn't leave the washing sodden? They all look like they only use the full spin on really looooooong cotton cycles. I want a machine that can do a quick wash and a full spin, and that's preferably fully variable with spin and temperature. Any suggestions? Would prefer a big loader as well - filthy kids!

I cap my spin at 1200. Higher speeds cause more corrosion on the drum bearings.
I just run an extra spin after the quick cycle finishes.

My Miele does a perfect spin on the 30 minute cycle. And its an 8kg. I love it. Best washer I've ever bought.

Sunkisses · 26/01/2019 17:51

I ran my old machine at 1600 every day and it lasted 10 years. I don't want to run an extra spin. I want a machine to do a quick wash with a high spin.

@Veronicat - what is the speed of the spin, and what is the model of the Miele?

My machine spins up to 1600, but only 1200 on the 45 min quick wash and 800 on the 30 min wash. It does take an 11kg load though! Hotpoint Ultima S Line.

Veronicat · 26/01/2019 18:11

It's a Miele W1 classic 1400 spin. The quick wash is 20 mins but you can switch it up to 30 mins. It spins at 1200 on that programme.
I got it half price from AO.

SneakyGremlins · 26/01/2019 18:13

I've got a Candy washer - 59 minute wash does 1400 spin. The 15/30/44 minute washes just do 1000 spin.

dementedpixie · 26/01/2019 18:15

How fast does the wash need to be? My hotpoint does a 40 degree daily wash in 1h 2 mins and spins at 1400. You can then add rinses as desired. I usually do 4 rinses and that takes the wash to 1hr 24 mins. The faster washes spin at 800

dementedpixie · 26/01/2019 18:17

Sorry it's a Samsung ecobubble not a hotpoint

greenelephantscarf · 26/01/2019 18:17

why the short wash?
usually they are for a small load only and don't get things clean.
plus they use enormous amounts of water and electricity. and don't rinse properly.

I’ve got a beko
It does a 20minute 2kg or 39minute 8kg 1200 spin
Doesn’t matter what programme you choose you can choose any temperature or spin (within reason)

WhentheDealGoesDown · 26/01/2019 19:09

I’m sure I read somewhere that the reason they don’t do a fast spin is because you are only supposed to do a small load for a quick wash and a small load is not good for faster spins as it wears the washing machine out as it is more unbalanced

Sunkisses · 27/01/2019 07:36

Thank you all. Decided to splash out in the end and get a Miele as they are fully variable, and you get the fastest spin on quick wash. Hoping it will last me 15 years!

@Sunkisses
You won't regret it. They come with a 10 year guarantee and are built to last.
My friend has had one since she got married 20 years ago.
And they are so quiet! I keep checking mine to see if I've actually switched it on.

howhowhow · 27/01/2019 09:10

My aeg does. 20 minute wash.

mrsed1987 · 27/01/2019 09:11

We have just got a beko, its brillant. 28 min 30c wash or 48 mins at 40c at 1400 spin

GlowWine · 27/01/2019 09:13

My ageing JohnLewis (zanussi??) Has a separate 15 minutes spin cycle with fully variable speed. So after the 15 minutes fast was which only spins at 800 I then run a full spin cycle. So yes, choose a machine where you can control all elements separately.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 27/01/2019 09:38

I agree ... quick wash on "filthy" clothes ... why would you?

borntobequiet · 27/01/2019 09:39

My Indesit washer dryer does. It’s the only good thing about it.

sunnyday1976 · 27/01/2019 09:47

My new Beko has a 28 minute quick wash at 30 degrees, which is for a full 10kg load, not just a small wash, and can spin at 1400. Had the old version of this for years and clothes always clean.

SweetheartNeckline · 27/01/2019 10:02

I can't wait to get a Miele. I'm in my 30s now so it feels appropriate. Proper grown-up machines they are.

e1y1 · 28/01/2019 01:04

Are there really all these people washing full loads of dirty worn clothes on 15/30 minute cycles? No wonder there's so many threads on here about smelly slimy washers.

Quick wash is for things like a cardi worn over a T-shirt that needs freshening up. Not your stained filthy clothes and underwear.

OrigamiZoo · 28/01/2019 01:11

I do all my washes on delicates 38min wash now with a 10min cotton spin added on, quick wash and clean clothes. Our clothes are never so dirty to warrant a three hour wash!

I do a one hour 60 degree wash for sheets and towels etc,

OrigamiZoo · 28/01/2019 01:14

To all the naysayers. How dirty are these clothes getting? Think of the water, detergent and energy. Wasteful.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 28/01/2019 05:07

My clothes and DH work clothes are always ok to go on a shortish wash usually about an hour as I don't think the very short ones rinse properly, not on my machine anyway. DH though has loads of smelly sportswear and grubby smelly clothes from where he goes fishing and they always need a full cotton wash with biological powder or sports wash so rather than separate loads of colours I tend to do his and hers washes. His clothes are very dirty!
