If so, can I ask what you put in them?

Water, detergent, essential oils?!

I have a spray bottle of diluted Flash (the Lidl own brand actually) and water. I've also had a bottle of diluted Zoflora in the past but found I didn't use that so much as it doesn't 'clean'.

Thank you-I want something a bit better for the environment but struggling to find info from non-US sites about what to put in it!

Ah. Wrong end of the stick. I see what you were asking.

Water, tea tree and lavender oils. Add lemon juice if you want something to clean grease and limescale. Make small amounts, about 100ml, at a time.

Following. I use ecover spray but it's expensive

For the cooker, sink etc: hot vinegar and washing up liquid in more or less equal quantities. I add a few drops of peppermint oil.

For anything burnt on, I wipe over with hot soapy water and then spray. Leave to work and then wipe off. Saucepans - boil some bio washing powder and hot water. Leave to work.

Rust etc - vinegar/washing up liquid spray and sprinkling of salt rubbed on and left. Then scrub.

For quick spray wipe, equal quantities of vinegar and water with a few drops of essential oil.

Yeah, it's not worth it.

I recommend Splosh. You get a starter pack, and the refils come in the post. They dissolve in hot water and smell amazing.

Lou573 · 29/12/2018 18:20

I get big bottles of liquid Castile soap and dilute it, add whatever oils you like.

BinkyandBunty · 29/12/2018 18:22

50/50 water and white vinegar with a decent squirt of dish detergent and some essential oil, usually peppermint or tea tree.

DameSquashalot · 29/12/2018 18:23

I will give Splosh a try. I use vinegar and water a lot. I've just ordered some Kinn products, but they don't smell great.

Polkadotdelight · 29/12/2018 18:24

I just use washing up liquid and water in an old spray bottle.

I've made this, she has other recipes on her site too:

Splosh fan here, we use kitchen spray, bathroom spray, floor cleaner, washing powder and fabric softener. All fantastic.

Thank you for the fab replies!

@Lou573 how much do you dilute the liquid Castile soap by and how much essential oil do you add??

50/50 white vinegar to water. Two lessons cut into quarters, and a bunch of rosemary.

Leave to brew two weeks in a glass jar. Smells great, works a treat on most surfaces.

AprilShowers16 · 29/12/2018 19:33

Soak citrus peels in white vinegar for a couple of weeks and then dilute half and half with water 👍
