Please help.
What removes burnt bits on the inside of a saucepan?
I've tried soda crystals and they didn't shift it.

Washing powder (bio) & a long soak?

DramaAlpaca · 07/12/2018 00:13

Put a dishwasher tablet or some washing powder into the pan. Fill with water. Bring to the boil. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Leave to cool. After that you should find the burnt on stuff is loose enough to be scrubbed off.

Dog?

TechnicalSergeantGarp · 07/12/2018 00:18

Jif and a tiny bit of water. Leave for 25 mins.

FadedRed · 07/12/2018 00:19

Make a paste with bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) and put on the burnt areas, leave overnight then wash the pan.

JakeBallardswife · 07/12/2018 00:28

Exactly what @dramalama said, works every time

DramaAlpaca · 07/12/2018 00:29

Dog? Grin

That'd work too.

beanaseireann · 07/12/2018 07:19

Thank you

Astonish oven and cookwear cleaning paste and a scouring sponge

Sitranced · 08/12/2018 21:43

Drop of fairy and some water then put it back on the heat for a minute or two. Use a wooden spoon to pull off the burnt bits.

BooHasAPressieForYou · 08/12/2018 21:49

Coke and a wooden spoon.

Put the coke in the pan over the burnt bits. Put it on a low heat, then when the coke bubbles just lightly rub with the wooden spoon.

I saved my sis in laws v v expensive pan that my other sis in law burnt black on the inside with this. Older sis in law would've been none the wiser but younger one was so impressed by it she told her.

I did a spectacular job of burning something last week, an inch of charcoal all over the bottom of a cream cast iron pan.

I put a finish dishwasher tablet and water and simmered it for about 30 minutes, left it overnight and scraped at it with a wooden spatula, then I had to use jif and a Brillo pad for about ten minutes.

As I said, it was a very good job!

Some awful booze that's lurking at the back of your drinks cupboard, heat it up in the saucepan and use it to deglaze the pan. Worked a treat for burnt on risotto rice in my saute pan.
