Holes in clothes after washing?

This is a strange one but does anyone know why I keep getting tiny holes in my clothes after washing? Initially I thought it was my machine but we just got a new one and it's still happening. Started washing all my bras in net bags as I thought the clips may be catching but it's still happening. It's annoying. Seems to be mainly cotton items it happens to like t-shirts. Any ideas anyone? It's driving me crazy!

If it's happening on the lower tummy area, it's your fly's on your jeans. I had this for years, ruined so many tops. Not sure about your bra area though.

I’ve been meaning to post this thread too!!!

Not jeans zips, not happening in areas I’d thought of as getting specially worn. My DH has a lovely jumper which now has a tiny hole mid-back. It’s so annoying.

Yes they are all around my navel area, how strange. I thought my bras may be catching on them in the wash if washed together but have been using net bags for bras and it's still happening. I'm at a loss

Very annoying judge :-( I think I may try washing cotton items such as t-shirts etc in one of the net bags to see if it makes a difference. Don't know what else to try as o already use a low spin speed etc..

Definitely jeans, do you wash your clothes washes with jeans? I had this problem and it ruined so many clothes and I realised it was dh’s zip on his jeans. I now wash any jeans with zips separately.

Do you have any DCs with bibs or anything with Velcro? These wrecked many a top of mine before I realised what it was!

Is it on tops you tend to wear with a belt?

Check every one of the holes in your drum, feel them for any jaggy points. That's what I found when I was having similar issues. It can happen due to things like jeans buttons catching in the drum holes and pulling them up.
This is why you should always button up/fasten all doofers on your clothes before washing

I'm 100% certain it's metal buttons and zips like you get on jeans.

Our clothes suffered from multiple tiny holes from the button at the band and around. Stopped wearing jeans and no more holes.

I always get little holes around the navel area, I've discovered it's a combination of the button on jeans as others have said, and where I lean against the kitchen worktops when washing up or cooking, they wear thin and then I notice the holes when ironing after the wash. It's not actually the machine or clothes causing it, the damage is already there, that's just when I notice it.

The dettol spray is a possibility actually. I never even thought of that. I must use it at least 10 times a day. Have 2 under 2 so it's never far from my hands lol. Also the jeans, I'm never out of them!
