Fabric softener to give you a lovely clean smell

I recently bought one of the luxury, extra perfumed fabric softener. It's revolting and giving me a headache. What I dislike is that it's too sweet and perfumey. I do like a strong scent. Which type can I buy to just give a fresh, clean scent?

My go-to is the Lenor Spring Awakening (the blue one), but I stop smelling it after a while as I become too used to it, so I grudgingly change to something different for a month or so before reverting back. I snapped up a bottle of Comfort Frosted Pine and Apple today for £1.99 in B&M Bargains. It smells frigging amazing, though I'll be the first to admit I like my clothes to smell like a strong, freshly unlidded Yankee Candle! GrinWink

A friend of mine who likes very subtle smelling FCs swears by Fairy. If she can't get Fairy on a deal, she'll opt for the white Comfort. I don't personally understand the appeal with either - they smell like a few £s worth of nothing to me - but that's probably because I like strong scents.

I got those Persil powergems when they were on special too. Really liked them but they are so expensive at normal price.

@Malaco it's from Sainsbury's - it's "made" by the Oasis clothing chain

Malaco · 30/11/2018 20:41

Thanks e1

Even on special offer with £3 off the powergems were expensive but i wanted to try them. I suppose it'll probably last a long time as you don't use much.

The blue Lenor seems really popular. Funny, Fairy has quite a strong scent to me. It's my favourite

Is Oasis from Waitrose too? I've not heard of it

I got it in Sainsbury (I was attracted by the snazzy bottle, its not animal tested and I liked the smell of two of them- the Paradise one smells tropical and the roses one )

The Tesco 'love baby' fabric conditioner smells amazing and is allegedly a bit gentle as it's for baby laundry. It smells really nice.

Ooh i bought some of the apple and pine one in poundland the other day (was £2) had no idea it was so popular i just haven’t seen it before and im a absolute sucker for a scent so im pleased to here its nice.
Normally i use spring awakening or the lenor perfumelle blue bottle they smell so nice but maybe not the sublte smell your after op.
I would go with fairy or white comfort as others have suggested is nice but not strong at all.
I am a sucker for washing smells... for all of you who like lenor spring awakening you can get it in a room spray absolutely lush spray it and the scent really does linger for ages xx

I'm amazed that Oasis (my favorite store) has brought out a fabric conditioner! If I was in the uk I'd be getting in my car and buying all of them right now!

Cheers Crisp I'll give that a go!

whoamitojudge · 05/12/2018 16:52

The Ecover ones are lovely ( and cruelty free too)

I'm absolutely loving Comfort Tuberose and Vanilla Flower. Makes my washing smell so lovely! And they're currently on offer for £2 in Wilko too!
