I spend most of my time out of the house and if I did everything that needed done I wouldn't see the children.

I have 1.5 hours on a Thursday am at home and every afternoon from 1pm
, but still struggle .

Dh used to help with the housework once he was home from work, but doesn't anymore (says he's too tired after long commute).

My house is a tip and I feel exhausted.

Don't have a dishwasher - no room atm.

Monday I blitz. I start at the top of the house and work my way down. The toy issue I am lucky with as we have a playroom which means the rest of the house is easy to keep tidy. I make the effort to dothings in the evening despite not wanting to, otherwise the morning is chaos. All uniforms/clothes laid out breakfast things out, lunches made, bags ready by the door with shoes. I am rather anal about a tidy house and being organised.

On the subject of bathroom wipes, there are flushable & non-flushable. Flushable are easier to dispose of especially if you use them to wipe out potties after use.
I too have approx 30mins whilst DH is putting DD to bed. That tidies the kitchen (admittedly before we've eaten) and sometimes gets the downstairs vacd. I also tend to sort laundry / tidy upstairs whilst DD is in the bath.
I hate going to bed and leaving dirty dishes (well actually I hate getting up at 6.30 and seeing them) so always wash up or stack dishwasher before bed.
DD helps load the washing machine & plays on the spare bed (or in the garden) whilst I hang it up to dry.
I hate dusting so don't do it.

CC baked spuds don't need saucepans but the baked beans to go on them do.

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 16:46

ComeOV whatever time to you go to bed?

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 16:47

Pitta breads with stuffings don't need pans tho I rely on kids having hot meals at school so can be a bit slack at supper.

bobsmum · 21/06/2007 16:47

Right. I can definitely make myself use the evenings more productively.

The only thing is, dh will be sitting on the sofa like Homer.

I've got one of those. You just have to ignore it or go into battle about it. Being lazy, I ignore it in the hope he will join in. I'm still hoping.

Usually in bed by 9pm watching the tv. I make the children's supper for 5.30pm, whilst they are eating I do a quick tidy up of the playroom/garden and make pack lunches. Then bath time and sort clothe for next day, afterwards the children watch a bit of tv whilst I start supper for dh and I. Children in bed 7.30pm, we then eat when dh gets in, tidy kitchen, then collapse. Plus ds still naps for a couple of hours in the afternoon so that gives me time. I find little and often keeps on top of things, otherwise it gets out of control and it is overwhelming.
