E cloths

So I have just found out what a e cloth is 🙈

I love the idea of not having to buy any sprays, detergents, cleaners etc for 5 years which is approximately how long they will last for..

I was just wondering if they really are that good to buy? Can you simply just use water and it'll clean your house? I want to save money so these seem like a good idea.

They are not great for the environment - they shed tiny plastic fibres. I use hot soapy water and cotton cloths for most of the cleaning jobs in my house.

What @NannyR said. I cut up old clothes to use as cloths. The reverse side of sweatshirts will do a very similar job to a microfibre one. An old spray bottle filled with water and a splash of vinegar is good for shiny surfaces.

Terrible news environmentally,

Old clothes are fine so kong as they're not synthetics. You can knit 100% cloths - just knit stitches will make it abrasive rather than smooth. If you buy cloths, bamboo seems the best bet.

Hot soapy water will clean most things and a spray of diluted vinegar can be used for quick wipe downs.
