White vinegar for cleaning and other useful things

I have just recently located back to Scotland from Australia and I am having problems locating white vinegar for cleaning. In Oz I could purchase by the gallon in supermarkets and Costco for around $2- (approx £1).
The prices charged on Amazon etc are ridiculous.
Any suggestions as to where I can source at a reasonable price in Glasgow?

Our local Tesco (Yorkshire) does half-litre bottles for about 50p, so it's not exactly unknown even if not in bulk. Seems odd that Glasgow would be that different.

I always get mine from the local Asian supermarket. Massive bottles & cheap.

Which aisle are these big bottles of vinegar kept I ? I can't find any

SpoonBlender · 12/11/2018 13:29

The smaller bottles are with the other vinegars/oil.
DP says Wilco's does 2l bottles.

Wilco!!!!! Which aisle though? Condiments?

Asian supermarkets sell huge 5 litre bottle for about £2.50

Amazon will deliver 5l bottles too - four for about £10, I think, but OP found this expensive.

Saw half-litre bottles in Aldi this evening for 29p, in the same boxes as malt vinegar.

Home Bargains in the cleaning aisle, Poundstretcher in the cleaning aisle and most stores that stock Happy Shopper goods. £1.00 a bottle.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 20/11/2018 13:54

Wilkos in the cleaning aisle.

Ocado do a 5 litre bottle, but it's £5.

www.amazon.co.uk/Acetic-Acid-80-Ethanoic-Litre/dp/B00BU2KEXU/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_201_img_0/257-0616870-2441751?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforum-21&refRID=ETR78C06D35B1GW1GDRG

Buy acetic acid, dilute to about 5% with water, and you will have what is sold as white vinegar.
