What I didn't have for my last cleaner, and will do for my next is a detailed list of what I want done in each room.
Example for the kitchen
Clean hob & worksurfaces
Wipe down splashbacks & cupboard doors
Wipe inside of microwave
etc. etc.

My last cleaners used to miss out stuff, that I thought was obvious and it really used to annoy me.
I would prefer to have less rooms done but done properly in the time they had.

local student is my cleaner £10 per hour...

two hours a week:
she cleans oven, fridge, kitchen cupboards, hoovers all floors, tidies beds, cleans windows, wipes surfaces etc

in our three bedroomed, three children filled household!

i know it's a bit more than usual, but she also babysitts and is very good with our children too. she is puctual and efficient and overall very nice.
