It's getting on my nerves!!
There are 4 of us me , dh , dd and ds
Ds (teenager) has clean uniform every day and . pyjamas usually 2-3 days , clean outfit at weekends( he has special needs so can get food down himself sometimes so needs clean clothes every day )
My dh just wears clean work top , wears same trousers for a few days .
Me I'll wear dress for work or top and will put in wash , skirt or trousers I'll wear a few times until I think needs washing . My dd ( late teens )is always changing her clothes and throwing in wash . I sometimes throw back in her room as I know that I washed a top the day before she's changed for uni then changed when come home plus changing into pyjamas every day .
I've always got a full basket of washing to do , wet washing and washing to iron.
How do I stop dd for constantly putting clothes in wash .
How much washing does everybody else have ?

Get her to do her own, she's an adult now, leave her to her own devices. She'll soon become more fluid about what's clean / dirty

2 adults, 2 pre teens & a toddler. I do approx 3 washes a day, more when changing beds. Then have a load of nappies to wash every 2nd day too.

I suffer very mildly from ocd and think clothes washing is my main ‘issue’.

@Tobuyornot99
Tried that , she will quite happily put 2-3 things in wash every day then I will wash the rest of our clothes so washer ends up being on more .

I used to fold up teenagers' (esp daughter's) clothes and return as if washed. Now that it's a memory and not a daily experience, I can say that it'll be over before you know it and she'll be gone!

If you have a tumble dryer, I would recommend only doing the washing when you know you can dry it, fold/iron and put it away even if it piles up and days off seem to be non-stop laundry. I found it easier than a load a day but having it hanging around waiting for attention.

Next, a decent steam generator iron cuts ironing time. Of course, not ironing at all is another way. Easy/non iron bedding for kids beds. Hundreds of plain black socks from same shop so they can be paired without thinking about it.

Daughter, late teens should be doing own laundry. I came to that conclusion one Sunday as I was ironing shirts and the kids were all in bed/lounging around. I did do their washing, but they did their own ironing.

I also think that getting rid of clothes you don't wear helps in that it makes putting away clothes that much easier.

Tell her the washing machine is free for her to use on xxx evening. Anything you find of hers just drop back in her room.

I did that. Took a month for them to actually realise i was serious but its now washed and on an airer without me saying anything. Just dont go back on your word once you-ve said it.

She will thank you when she is older.

Just wash and Let them all do their own ironing.
