Cleaning poor. More of a wipe over. Damaged my floor but didn't come forward and tell me. When I noticed it they said that they would pay for a repair but that was 3 months ago and they haven't paid me yet. Not worth taking the risk with them

I know someone who has used them in an ad hoc basis, before and after they relocated. They said the quality of service was hugely different between the two locations, so it's probably worth asking locally (or posting on your MN Local board) to see what they're like where you are.

I'm rather hoping for further recommendations...I agree, MollyMaid are v expensive; set against that are what others have said: impersonal, professional, easy to complain.

BallsforEarrings · 17/02/2015 15:57

They charge a flat rate (it works out around £20-£25 per person per hour) most of it goes towards the running of the franchise but they are known to be reliable, cleaning is so-so, not great but not too bad I'm told.

Of course it all depends upon the individual franchise and how that branch is run as to how much value for money they provide.

I think it is a good thing they actually employ their staff rather than run an agency (who provide self-employed cleaners) as this will give them a level of control over staff activity that the agencies don't have.

I used to work for homeclean. You are classed as self employed. If you are declaring your income (as I was and as you should!) You end up working for way under minimum wage. It doesn't sit right with me.

I used mollymaid for the first time last week, for a full clean and then going to use them for a fortnightly clean thereafter. They cleaned on Thursday and I am furious, £200 for a clean which was ( as I understood) to include the insides of the kitchen cupboards, insides of Windows, high dusting, the oven and all of what's included on their regular clean. They didn't do the kitchen cupboards, they gave the oven a cursory wipe ( didn't lift out the oven liner, or do the door), the shower tile grout still has a pink mould on it. I haven't contacted them as yet, as I have been too angry and had a special occasion over the weekend and didn't want to upset it all. I'm going to contact them today and am interested in their response! Some bits of the house were gleaming once they'd finished. My mum had used them years back and the standard of cleaning was always excellent.

We hired Molly Maids, because my partner had just finished Cancer treatment, & needed help with housework. This was not a luxury service, but one that was meant to support my partner, to take some worry of her. We paid for a spring clean, £90 for two cleaners. This was done well, howeve4r after a few regular cleans, it was clear the standard wasn't the same. It is an expensive service, and one we expect to have a decent clean from. I was assured by the local franchise owner, that big houses were not a problem, and they were used to busy households. This clearly wasn't the case! We had a concern about the cleaning of a toilet, which I emailed the local FO about, (mainly because my partner was still at risk from infection post chemo) this was mentioned to the cleaners, and when they next came, one in particular was abrupt, about the fact she had, had a call back. This was discussed, and we thought, the end of the matter. This was until 12 June 2016, when the cleaners came, my partner was doing School drop off, and I was upstairs. I came down to hear the cleaners insulting our home, the condition, the fact the house isn't clean enough for them to clean. Even though we were doing more and more of the cleaning. The didn't do three rooms, they didn't need to load DW, or wash. After hearing such negativity, I gave them notice. I then phoned my partner, to let her know what had happened. The cleaner was listening outside the door, and shouted at me. I told them both to leave, and the same cleaner said very loudly she had got up early to do this job, and continued to be unprofessional.
I'm afraid I would NOT recommend this company!

Hello,

I live in the Altrincham area and i am looking for a ad-hoc domestic clean. I've looked into Molly Maid but i can't afford the rates.
Anyone else know of any others (at max. £10 an hour) ?

An agency would be great, i would rather go with one that others have used and would recommend.

Thank you in advance

Yumimumy123 · 04/11/2017 13:26

Can anybody recommend a good cleaner-either private or agency that cover Potters Bar?

QuiltingFlower · 05/11/2017 20:40

Mmmmmmm, they might have insurance, but try claiming on it (wistfully thinks of previously pristine oak parquet flooring).

Reliable and fair priced cleaners- do they exist in the Fulham area. I’ve used agencies ( Fantastic Cleaners) who are worse than I could ever imagine. Someone who has an understanding of elbow and grease the way i do and that fridge shelves don’t get cleaned by spraying window cleaner at the foodShock

HOH4 · 30/11/2018 19:47

Well Molly Maid! You say all the right things but do you actually provide them?? ummm I think not! It all started ...... We found a fab house to move mum in and thought as a treat "let's call mollymaid, they sound perfect!" - 2 lovely girls turned up and got started. We paid for a full top to bottom clean, every nook & cranny and every cobweb, all dust,,, Ashley Tucker (who advertises her name with the company name on numerous websites, chat sites etc) who owns the franchise even puts in our email what exactly gets cleaned, very thoughtful. Now this is where things get very disappointing, it's INSPECTION TIME! So in I go and only get as far as the first radiator and NOOOOOOOOOO it's full of dust, cobwebs and god knows what else (yuk!) So, of course, every radiator had not been touched. It was all down hill from there, well it would be if I started at the top! Kitchen cupboard tops had not been touched, some doors had been missed, skirtings missed, balustrade up stairs intermittent dust where I think, now I'm guessing here so don't quote me, but maybe when one of the girls walked up the stairs they may of remembered to wipe as they went?? Stains on walls, dust and cobwebs on tops of curtain rails & curtains, lampshades, window frames not wiped properly,,, oh boy the list goes on! How disappointing of Molly Maid not to of sent the cleaners out with the proper equipment (i.e. steam cleaner machine for radiators). The girls were using long sticks with dusters that had already seen the best part of the last century,, couldn't see a sell-by date on them so please don't take my last comment seriously! The promises they make and the work that follows doesn't add up, so on speaking to Ashleigh Tucker she said the girls would be back the next day to put it right. And the next day they were back. My lovely sis took over to make sure they did what they were supposed to do,, unfortunately she had to show the cleaners how to do each room, showing and helping them otherwise they would of been there ages. Can you imagine!! They were paid a lot of money for us to show them how to do it - best of all is the excuse ---- "we didn't get a chance to see inside the house before the clean so maybe we can all learn from this and the girls would of been better equipped" - Now excuse me if I am wrong but don't most houses come with walls, skirtings, stairs, possibly radiators, windows, light fittings and cupboards???? How could you not be equipped? So if you need your house cleaning don't call MM, call my Sis (haha) or me, of course! Now I bet you're all asking 'did you get a refund',,,,, Are you kidding, of course not! Just a nicely worded email about how we can all learn from this. Shame on you Molly Maid. Look forward to chatting to you soon.
