Wee Duvet

My spare bed was the subject of a wee accident. I did everything I could to salvage the mattress but it was particularly stinky wee and I've thrown it out and bought a cheapish replacement and no more wee smell.
Unfortunately not so with the duvet. It's a lovely heavy goose feather duvet. As per the label DP took it to the laundrette and washed and dried it in the big machine. He only used those silly little Ariel Tabs I would have probably gone old school powder with such serious washing but... it still smells awful. Is it done for too? Or should I take it to the launderette and try again?
Middle of the night housework going on here as I have a sick baby and it's the first time he's gone to sleep not on me for 24 hours.

Did the duvet dry properly first time round. I would use some non bio power and try again and tumble dry until dry and then some more.

Ikea waterproof mattress protectors are great - not plastic at all. Would really recommend.

Yeah I don't think it did dry properly. Back to the launderette!

Feather duvets absolutely STINK when they are not fully dry. Wash with hardcore powder (and a tiny bit of bleach! Aaarrggh! I know I know.) then dry for absolutely HOURS, with tennis balls to refluff. There is absolutely no reason to discard the duvet, it just takes time.

And use biological powder.
