I’ve had enough of all the stuff! Toys not played with, random papers, clothes current and old, bits & bobs, toiletries, make up tupperware, photos, kids arts & craft, old school books and so on and so on.

It’s getting me down. I can’t function properly. I can’t get a thing done when my dc’s are home so I’ve booked Thursday & Friday off to tackle this mess.

Thing is I have trouble staying focussed & don’t know where to start. I don’t want to waste the time and achieve very little. I have to do this for my mental state!

Please can anyone give me some tips on how best to tackle this in the time I have?

Good start OP. The one thing that really helped me with the eBay/charity thing is I signed up for gift aid and they email me to tell me how much i’ve raised. That really shifted my mindset from giving stuff away that had value to making a donation to charity.

How's it all going?

A lot of people find a whole day sorting things out daunting. I would try and just do one thing but every day.

7.15am-7.30am for the next month do one thing. sort one draw from rubbish, sort bathroom drawer, look at spices to see whats out of date or not used, etc.

That way its speedy, you can do whilst morning tea or coffee is cooling, and its a habit you can keep going forever.

(you can obviously change time to suit, but i usually get up 6.45 in time to get ready and out so by 7.15am im already semi ready. by evening im to tired)

Why is everyone saying the tip?

eBay it, (for toys that sell for a lot) or take it to the charity shop.
