Cleaning the oven. Hate it, hate it, hate it.

Othersideofthechannel · 14/06/2007 12:40

Cleaning the toilets

jinxed · 14/06/2007 12:46

I guess second would be the oven, but i tend to delegate that one to DH!

I find toilets quite theraputic (sp?) actually, and would say that and window cleaning are my faves!!!

Ironing - without a doubt

Othersideofthechannel · 14/06/2007 12:51

Dusting Dusting DUSTING. You do it and literally a day later everywhere looks dreadful again. Oh and you have to move so much stuff to dust properly.

Loading the dishwasher

Unloading the bl**dy dishwasher (only coz it's always me that doe sit and I'm bored to tears by it)

seamonster · 14/06/2007 16:56

cooking

DumbledoresGirl · 14/06/2007 17:00

Oh I thought my answer was cleaning the loos - I put it off and put it off for weeks

But reading this thread, perhaps there are worse eg cleaning the oven, cleaning the windows and dusting because I virtually never do any of those!

I like ironing though (in so far as I like any chore) and as for putting the washing away: that is not really a chore in my mind. I love making little piles for each person and then delivering them to the right rooms. How sad am I?

southeastastra · 14/06/2007 17:58

aw dg! off to do the awful job now. so many grey socks and white shirts in different sizes

Mopping the kitchen floor. Even the towel skating afterwards is no longer fun.

lilolilmanchester · 14/06/2007 18:13

re cleaning the oven (which is my least favourite job too!) I made a meatloaf one time, following a recipe which involved cooking it in a water bath. Coincidentally I decided to clean the oven straight after - and the steam from the water bath had loosened a lot of the gunk and made it easier to clean. Still a horrid job, but I stick a roasting pan of water in the oven for an hour or so before I want to clean it and it makes a difference. Well, a bit of one anyway. And I still don't do it as often as I should. Try it and let me know if it works for you too

multitasker · 14/06/2007 18:20

Cleaning windows - no matter what I use I get horrible streaks

francagoestohollywood · 14/06/2007 18:21

hoovering

NuttyMuffins · 14/06/2007 18:25

Putting the bins out, which i have to do right now, and in the rain too.

lilolilmanchester · 14/06/2007 18:25

multitasker: have you tried mixing white vinegar & water in a spray bottle? Works for me. Now, with this and my last post, I might sound like Anthea Turner, but far from it, I'm more like one of the slatterns on her show. Just happy to share tips that I pick up to spend as little time as possible on housework!

gibberish · 14/06/2007 18:26

It's a toss up between ironing and cooking.

multitasker · 14/06/2007 18:27

Just those 2 things?? I'll give it a try. Do you use a soft cloth or kitchen roll or does it matter? I think I either put on too much product or not enough. I have a rubber blade, but I still get marks
