How can I get my pans shiny and sparkly?

Hi all,

Having a new kitchen but no budget for new pans. The ones we have are silver with a copper bottom but they look dreadful after a decade of dishwashering. Is there anything I can do to make them all shiny?

Good scrub with Barkeeper's Friend might help.

Not heard of that @blackforestcake will hunt some out. Thank you

Second Barkeepers Friend. Get the cream not the spray. And don't put your pans in the dishwasher.

I buy BF from Lakeland BTW.

For the copper bottom, try Ketchup. It really does bring it up bright and sparkly.

LoniceraJaponica · 07/10/2018 08:10

I must try that. I have heard that it works

Brillo pads are best

LoniceraJaponica · 07/10/2018 08:15

Don't they scratch the pans?

Singlenotsingle · 07/10/2018 08:26

They don't scratch mine. They're the only thing that works when I've burnt something Grin

Ketchup on the bottoms! Genius!

I’ve got some Brillo pads (I burn stuff on a regular basis)

Place in a bowl with washing powder ie. the stuff you wash clothes with rather than dishes!

Astonish paste from poundshop brings them up a treat.

Some Ariel or similar bio detergent in the pan with some water, heat up, turn off heat and leave for a while. That usually works.
Also agree with Astonish paste.

Thanks everyone!
