Help! Can anyone recommend an electric/heated clothes airer?

After another load of washing now smelling like damp after it refusing to dry on my normal clothes airer in front of the radiator I think I might lose the plot!

Are electric/heated clothes airers worth it? If so which one do you have? I have heard the Lakeland ones are good but don’t really want to part with £100 so if there is a cheaper option out there that would be great Smile

TIA

Lidl or aldi (can never remember which is which) had one on their website for £30 that's not huge but enough for a load, I have the same style and it folds flat for storage. I've no idea what the lakeland ones are like to compare though

I have the Lakeland one. I used to use it when money was tight - now I use the tumble dryer.

I have read how good they are but I wasn't so impressed. Definitely better than just an airer, but I seemed to be constantly rearranging the washing to get it dry. I used to drape something like a sheet over the top to conserve the heat, and I had a dehumidifier running too.

Now I just use it for stacking clothes as I fold or iron them. Sometimes I plug it in for an hour. It's an excellent airer because it holds so much and you can lay things flat or hang them over the rails. It's good for drying when used before tumble drying too.

I didn't find it worked for me unless I finished off stuff in the tumble dryer. Maybe if I had small children, it would have been OK, but no so good for my lot with a lot of hoodies, jeans and towels.

Aldi special buys, this week.

I got one from Aldi a couple of years ago (not the one that's n store now, mine is like a ladder)
Its pretty good , not a huge load but its not just one heated bar touching the clothes, I can drape things so they touch all the bars , or good for small things.

Doesn't replace the tumble drier though

are you overlapping the clothes on top of another when you dry them on the airer? I notice that it stinks of damp when I do that, so now I have bought an extra airer and space out all my washing on them and it never smells now.

Coopers of stortford do a cheap heated aired that I find works well

I love my lakeland one. I don't have to re arrange things at all. Even adult jeans and hoodies. I have a cover for it though so it may make a difference.

Thanks everyone, I went with the Aldi special buy one and I am pretty happy so far and seems to be doing the job - and no damp smelling clothes!
