Mop, ecloth, steam mop, wet vacuum

I have a string-like mop. With two buckets, one clean one dirty but it takes forever.

I have an ecloth. Sure it's quick. But the floor is dirty afterwards.

I can't see that a steam mop is going to be useful - surely the pad will get dirty after a couple of tiles and need rinsing, replacing etc.

Is this the solution ??

we have a steam mop and it works wonders. you only need to change the pad after you have mopped the whole floor. we squirt down this: methodproducts.co.uk/products/squirt-mop-hard-floor-cleaner/ and then mop over it. minimal effort but great results.

Thanks @sleepismysuperpower1 - when I cleaned half a dozen tiles by hand today I had to rinse the cloth out between each one (60cm by 60cm) as the water was almost black. I guess I could just get half a dozen pads - can I change them mid steam?

yes you can, although i don't find it necessary.

I think that whatever you use, dirty floors are going to mean dirty water or dirty mop heads. I find frequent quick mopping is doable - if the kitchen floor is left, it takes ages to clean.

Have you looked at a Karcher FC5 I feel like I'm recommending these left, right and centre but we have a huge tiled downstairs area and this has been a game changer for me floors are so clean now they squeak Grin

@didireallysaythat hi yes I noted that and asked the MN collective I got some good feedback and took the plunge I did look at getting a reconditioned one due to price but reasoned that I could send it back if I didn't like it. You still potentially have to give corners a hand wipe and treat particularly stubborn stains first or give them a good scrub by hand but to be honest I found the same issues with mops (I tried a lot!) and at least with the Karcher I know the floor is clean when you empty out the container it's astounding - I still have a spray mop for the tiles floors upstairs but have used the Karcher on them after mopping just for comparison and the muck it brings up is incredible. I can only speak from my own experience but this is the best I have found on the market for large areas and I find it pretty effortless. I like the fact you can machine wash the rollers as well.

Sorry should say yes I agree looks like they are quite similar. You can always send them back if your not happy so perhaps try the Bissell first?

@mommybear1 who am I to go against the collective?
