Washing machines

I need a new washing machine urgently. It has to be cheap as chips so no miele, Bosch recommendations please. I'm looking more at candy, hotpoint, beko.

Any recommendations or ones to avoid please?

Zanussi Lindo100 (ZWF71463W) is meant to be a very good budget washing machine. it came 4th on a list with the top 10 ones on.

Beko without a doubt. Best you can get for the money.

Hotpoint, Indesit & Whirlpool are all part of the same company now and don’t have a great reputation, especially after the dryer fires.

Candy bought out Hoover a few years ago and are notoriously loud and unreliable. My aunt had a Candy for all of 18 months before the bearings went on it and when it did work, it would randomly just not spin for no reason, leaving everything soaking wet.

My best friend has 3 kids and her £250 Beko has lasted her 8 years with only 1 very minor repair last year (motor brushes were replaced, only cost £60 to repair)

Thank you both that is really helpful.

Did Beko not have a reputation for fires too, EcoCleaner? I could have sworn they did.

My previous one was purchased because of its 5 year warranty, however as it has failed 3 months outside this I am not prepared to spend £££ again.

I had nothing but problems with my hot point ended up getting every part replaced within the 2 year guarantee then it died shortly after
Didn’t like my zanusi
Had a cheap LG which was great lasted years and now have a Samsung
So personally I would recommend LG or Samsung but I haven’t tried beko or Bosch

user1484830599 · 16/09/2018 17:29

Thank you. The last one I had which has just died was. Samsung, conveniently 3 months out of its 5 year warranty so I will not be purchasing another. LG way out of my budget I'm afraid, but thank you for posting.

Oh heck my Samsung is only 10 months old so fingers crossed
My LG was £250 in Tesco in store not online

Mumof1andacat · 16/09/2018 18:07

We have had a Beko for 3 yrs. No problems yet. Lots of functions and a timer. 7kg drum which is huge

Clutterbugsmum · 16/09/2018 19:29

Like mumof1andacat, I have had a Beko for 3 yrs.

And it is a better then the Hotpoint one I have before the whole thing bar the outer casing replaced at least twice.

user1484830599 · 16/09/2018 20:26

@Alfiemoon1 fingers crossed yours lasts longer! I bought the Samsung and paid the £££ because of the 5 year warranty but when I rang they were almost gleeful that it had expired. I just feel like I could have bought a cheapy one and replaced it in the last five years for what I spent on the Samsung. I bought that in desperation after the Bosch we had before broke after 2 years.

I do have a guy hopefully coming to look at a repair this week but I have three grubby boys and realistically I can't be without a washer that long!

Beko now top of my list, thank you all.
