Fear of/ apathy towards cleaning?

My house is a bit messy (7yo DS!) but not at hoarding level. There's probably far too much stuff, but I've decluttered mine so the rest is DH's or DS's. Or it's stuff that "people" have given me, and while I'm not enamoured of it, removing it will cause comments and upset/conflict (eg ornaments bought by DS for my birthday!).
We also moved a few years ago to a bugger house, but one without much hidden storage, and I can't get into the lofts so "stuff" seems to be everywhere.

As a result, I seem to be in a state of fear or apathy towards dusting and cleaning. I know logically that I need to do it, but I just can't seem to motivate myself to do it. It then builds up, and I can't then keep on top of it. I've tried FlyLady, Marie Kondo, Organised Mum, but I'm just struggling. DH & DS aren't much help, I don't think I can remember the last time either of them did anything.

Had a few days in the summer when I had no DS/DH and earmarked it for getting on top of things, but just spent the time faffing and watching Netflix.

I don't know what I need so any help would be appreciated!

Why do you have to do it all? Why don't all 3 of you take one weekend and get through it alk together?

DH works very long hours.

DS does his room and has smaller tasks (dishwasher emptying, sock matching etc), so the bulk of the work falls on me.

I'm similar I hate housework and find it difficult to motivate myself. I have set aside a Sunday afternoon to keep on top of things like hoovering, dusting etc. I force myself to do the bare minimum at least... I'm also considering a cleaner tbh as a few of my friends have one and say it makes life much easier x

If you can afford it, employ a cleaner for the dusting, hoovering and bathrooms. There’s no good reason to do it yourself if you can afford to pay someone to do it.

For the stuff and daily tasks try Dana K White’s books/podcasts/ blog - A Slob Comes Clean - it is really geared towards people who don’t like cleaning and are not naturally good at it!
