There is some stuff by dylon which strips the clour out off stuff before dying it. That's the stuff you want.

Failing that by some dylon colour run remover. That should also shift bit, but first option is best. Smells a bit funny though.

I love doing this, there is something very satisfying aabout watching everything turn bright white again (You do it in a pan on the stove)Perhaps on the other hand, I should just get a life really.......

you need to be washing white stuff in something that contains optical brighteners (ie bleach but dont call it belach on the label )

(equally stuff with optical brightners should not really be used on coloured clothes cause over time it WILL make colours fade.

Generally non bio POWDER contains optical brightner and will keep whites white, and non bio liquid does not so is safe for colours.

Also sun light helps keeps whites white

Removing BIOLOGICAL stains (ie blood) without bilogical enzymes is pretty tricky IMO.... also even tricker if the stains have set in. Blood should be removed in COLD water as warm sets the stain in so once they have been washed 40+C its even harder to remove them...

i would suggest:
getting whites back to white and stains out 1st....
then
using non bio powder for whites
non bio liquid for colours

and if things get blood on them to soak then in a cold solution of bio powder / liquic then wash them in non bio with an extra rinse.
