'Easy' shower cleaning?

Miljah · 05/09/2018 18:17

Teaching DS (off to uni) how to clean his ensuite room.

My shower cleaning routine is a bit elaborate, but I'm not sure what easy to buy and use product and method would be best in the vain hope he'll follow it! Looking for 'buy this product, apply it with that'.

The shower will be tile, with a glass door.

Your thoughts are most welcome.

If he got enough UCAS points to get to university he'll find a way to clean his ensuite shower.

If he wants to.

If he doesn't, he won't.

The main thing is to give it a quick wipe down after each shower. The glass would benefit from Mr muscle no rinse spray (I'm sure other ranges have it too) each day. Then once a fortnight or so a proper clean with a multi purpose spray and a microfiber (chuck this in the wash with towels) cloth will be sufficient I'd think. The main thing is using the window or extractor religiously

There's no need for snark, it does help to learn these things!

Thanks Almostthere.

Yup; I shall teach, he can choose to learn. I have done my job if I've offered the teaching.

Good idea re the microfibre cloth. I have a ton of those he can take!

This works a treat. Easy to use, smells lovely, isn’t too chemically as in it doesn’t burn my skin like mr muscle type products do. Really recommend it.

Miljah · 05/09/2018 19:36

Thanks! How does it work? Spray all around, wipe down?

Yes I spray it while the conditioner is on my hair and wipe with a microfibre cloth then rinse with the shower before I get out. Means I never have to consciously clean the shower.

Use a squeegee.

CorporeSarnie · 05/09/2018 19:46

A bit ott possibly for in halls, but we use method shower spray and a squeegee. Spray once shower is off, squeegee down. Then once every few weeks a more careful clean, but it doesn't get filthy that way. The method spray is very gentle indeed on skin

Do you ever have to do the pan-scrubber thing on the base? Where, with the best will in the world, you get greasy feet?

I use a (dedicated) dish brush occasionally. Not often though, and it probably gets cleaned by the halls every now and then.

Feet are pretty clean once showered?, but yes spray with bathroom cleaner, scrub, rinse, done. But not each and every time. I like to get out the bleach spray and a toothbrush to do the grout on occasion, but wouldn't do that in halls!
