I want a cordless vacuum but can't afford Dyson

I have back problems and just can't manage my Henry vacuum anymore. I really can't afford a Dyson cordless and am looking at Vax or Hoover brand. I have seen some on eBay, refurbished by the manufacturer for less than £100. But are they any good?! Does anyone have any experience they could tell me about please?

It might be more cost effective to have one hoover upstairs and get a cheap one downstairs to keep there. There is a bit of weight to a handheld as it's all in one.

I can't comment on the other brands as I have the entry level Dyson v6 which is about £200. It's ok and is easy enough, but you have to hold the button in ( squeeze the handle to make it run) There is no on and off button to just press once.

Refurbished can be fine but ime can suffer from battery issues occasionally so read reviews on the supplier of the refurbished ones.
I keep a Vax upstairs, it was about £75 via a Mumsnet offer actually but similar price to Amazon. I will try to find the link and post it.

It's similar to this one. Its lightweight and am quite pleased with it. Needs emptying
every time but quite easy and filters accessible to wash. It needs to sit
on its charging base by a plug socket so I just keep it in the hallway.

Thank you both. Bumping for the evening crowd!
