Wardrobe organisation, help!!!

Hi,

How do people store their clothes? Ours have outgrown it. My partner and I share and I can't shut the doors! I don't think I have an abnormal amount of clothes (DP has a lot less than me though)!

The pic attached is of our wardrobe. The first two doors are the main section which has a full length hanging rail and a shelf above. The last door has 2 shelves and 2 short hanging sections.

Has anyone got any magic storage solutions for us? We have no room for anymore furniture in our room and the chest of drawers is full of underwear/socks/etc.

Please help, my bedroom looks so messy all the time and I keep tripping over stuff on the wa to bed 😂 which wakes the baby up!

Do you have a loft? I store out of season things that I’m sure I won’t use in plastic tubs in the loft. You have to make sure they are dry but it’s good for raincoats, cold weather jackets, things you know you won’t need for months.

No we don't Sad well there is one but our tenancy agreement says we aren't allowed in!

I keep some stuff in the garage but it gets cold and damp in there!

I keep holiday clothes in a suitcase under the bed, but apart from that, I get rid of stuff. In the past, I would look for more storage, but I'm getting better at getting rid of what i don't wear a lot. For me, the thing about wearing 20% of my wardrobe 80% of the time is true, so it seems silly to keep it if I don't have room.

I've recently bought some thin velvet hangers from Amazon. They come.with hook things so you can use three hangers in the space of one. I then grouped all my clothes according to type which helps too. You can also roll clothes quite effectively with no creases of you could fit a chest of drawers in anywhere.

Vacuum storage bags for the seasonal stuff and lie at bottom of wardrobe or on the shelves

I now fold and store my socks, underwear, tights (roll these and pop into a shoe box within the drawer), vest tops and DHs t/shirts differently and it's amazing how much space you save

Or try IKEA clear boxes with lids for vest tops, t/shirts, jumpers, jeans

You can get hooks for hangers that allow you to hang on each other making better use of the full height of the wardrobe
