The bath is white enamel and about ten years old. Very very hard limescale area but have no problems keeping rest of bathroom clean.

There is a grey, limescaly ring around the bottom of the bath . The bottom of bath because we have an electric shower over so the water only rises a couple of inches.

YUK.

In last month I have tried:

  1. White vinegar and baking soda
  2. Flash Bathroom
  3. Cillit Bang
  4. Harpic limescale blue bottle
  5. Bath power (god that was useless)
  6. And finally today Cif power Bath and limescale and a brillo pad

Is there ANYTHING else ?????

Viakal is so un green it is not true, but would probably do the trick.

Also.. we use Steradent to clean the toilet, wonder if that would work on a large scale.

Old fashioned Jif cream worked well on a stubborn bath at my old house.

And my mum swore blind to me then (a few years ago) that you could still be Ajax powder!

VerySweatyBetty · 04/06/2007 23:29

bleach bleach bleach, well i use it bit use a knife to scrape the lime scale off about 20 minutes of pre soaking in bleach-

BishyBarneyBee · 04/06/2007 23:30

run water over the line of limescale and put some of those limescale remover tablets in and leave it overnight.

I don't know this works I am making it up - sounds good though hey!

VerySweatyBetty · 04/06/2007 23:31

better still piss in the bath and use ur partners toothbrush to clean it

BreeVanDerCamp · 04/06/2007 23:32

VerySweatyBetty · 04/06/2007 23:36

i was a member of bounty for about 2 yrs so am used to threads and stuff but alot of them need a high dose of crack to losen them selves up, too much baby talk

lyrabelacqua · 04/06/2007 23:37

Cif cream usually does the job for me (not the power spray though, that's useless).

BishyBarneyBee · 04/06/2007 23:42

piss and crack?

mamazon · 04/06/2007 23:48

the black harpic toillet cleaner. i cant remember the name buts its something like 100% or something.....its fab.

Clary · 05/06/2007 00:18

Oh dear was going to say cillit Bang - is it the grime and lime you have tried because I have found it excellent

(not very green tho but I do use an E-cloth for windows and mirros)

GlassSlipper · 05/06/2007 08:51

Try ecover limesale remover. I used it on our white enamel bath wherea circle of scale had built up at the bottom. You have to leave it on for a bit and then scrub but it will defo shift it

LilRedWG · 05/06/2007 09:06

According to "How Clean is your House",

"To remove stubborn limescale marks (from enamel baths), take a clean cork from a bottle and use it to rub a little cream cleaner over the affected area. This requires some elbow grease, but is very effective."

HTH

I know a cut lemon is good on baths but you have to rinse it within a certain time? think it has bleaching properties?
