Advise on best detergent for stains?

looking for some well needed advice please on a detergent that will get rid of my babies dinner / Pooh stains. I use liquid pods just now and have tried vanish. Getting to the point of just chucking out clothes with stains. I also put most washes on a boil and this still doesn’t help!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Bio or non bio, liquid or powder. Anything that will prevent me from going through each item individually and having to use boil washes and still chuck out clothes!!! Aaaaah

Rub washing up liquid into the stain before washing. Use bio powder. Enzymes break down stains and bleaches help too

Neither me or my baby have sensitive skin so will try anything that’s easy and you don’t need to treat the stain first. Please help

I either do a presoak with Biotex for colours or napisan for whites.

I have heard about rubbing fairy liquid too and need to try this Smile

Maybe try soaking in vanish solution first. In the future treat the stain when it occurs with washing up liquid or a laundry soap bar

I can 2nd fairy liquid - I use it on all stubborn stains and have done for years.

Mummy2Babba · 21/08/2018 16:17

So do you guys just rub the fairy liquid into the stain and then put on a normal wash?

Yes. I put a bit of water on it, add fairy liquid and rub it a bit with my fingers. Then i wash it in the machine.

I've spent so much money in the past on stain removers. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but they never really work 100% for me, although Ace seems to be the best.

Drying in the sun works wonders though!

Ditch the liquids and pods. Use a bio powder and press extra rinse.

Powder contains oxygen based bleaching agents for added stain removal, whereas liquids don’t.

Thankyou. Any suggestions on a powder brand?

I currently have daz but also use bold, surf, persil or ariel. Just depends what's on offer

niknac1 · 21/08/2018 20:59

I use biotech to soak if necessary and lots of times the stain disappears, I now use Lidl formal bio washing powder and that works also. The most success I have is with the soaking with biotech.

If you have children, avoid anything with a heavy scent. The artificial chemicals used to create the strong smell are very rough on skin and can cause lots of problems. I would recommend sticking to any “original” scent, like original Persil, Ariel or Daz. I would avoid anything like “2 in 1” or anything with a fancy scent.

If you have an Aldi or Lidl near you, there own brand powders (Almat and Formil) score very highly with Which? so they might be worth a try
