Collapsible washing-up bowls - not just for camping?

This is fascinating stuff, I promise —lies—

We don’t have much storage space and I don’t like to leave bowls in the sink after I’ve done the washing up. A collapsible bowl would be perfect, but DH has pointed out that as every single one we’ve seen online has been marketed as for camping, they may not be robust enough for everyday use.

I’m not particularly sure how I could wear out a washing-up bowl, does he have a point? Does anyone on here use a collapsible bowl as their everyday washing up receptacle, and is there a brand/type you’d recommend (or recommend we steer clear of?).

I'm intrigued by this. I think it sounds like a very good idea and certainly worth a try. Off to Google them.

I think they are also marketed as space saver ones for small kitchens. Here is an example:

The ones in home bargains are marketed as daily home use washing up bowls.

They're just space savers and as I'm always telling my own husband.... Don't assume. As I'm saying for you to tell yours.

I know it is a crazy idea but could you just not have a washing up bowl? The uk is the only place that does this I think and I have now been weaned off overseas and don’t miss them at all

Home, Cameltoe and gamerchick thanks! I’ll go and have a proper look now.

Mrbob, I don’t have a washing up bowl at the moment. I’ve never bothered before. However I now have an old-fashioned —ok just old— butlers sink which is deadly to most crockery and glassware. It also doesn’t have a particularly efficient plug, the water leaks out at quite a rate. We’re not planning on updating our kitchen for at least a couple of years, so a washing up bowl is the practical solution.

And completely by the by, why does strike through not work anymore?!
