Zoflora in washing machine?

I wanted to do a hot wash in my washine machine to try and help keep the grey sludge and smells at bay. I'm a complete novice when it comes to what products to use in which situations.
Does anyone know if a bit of zoflora in the drawer will give the machine a bit of a freshen up? Or is this a total no-no?!!
Thanks in advance Smile

I use it when the machine gets a bit whiff. I use it on a 90 degree cycle

Soda crystals work better IME.

Thank you. Ive just put it on but accidentally put it on 60 degrees rather than 90. Oops, hopefully it will still help. And smell great afterwards.

Soda crystals is always on my 'to buy' list and I always forgot. Thanks for the reminder! Smile

I use soda crystals and distilled vinegar on a 90 wash to give the machine a good clean out (run while empty).

Often pop a capful of Zoflora in the softener part of the drawer when doing normal washes. Seems to deal very effectively with the armpits of my husband's clothes!

I run zoflora through my machine maybe once a month and a washing machine descaler also one a month (or there abouts) and do both on a 60 degree cycle.
Always fresh and no issues Smile

As long as it is higher than 40 degrees, the temp won't make too much difference. I like the grapefruit one for cleaning the machine. I also use it in a wash for DP's clothes - we also have the armpit issue!!

There's a Dr Beckman machine cleaner which is really good. I use that a few times a year as well.

I put a wee bit in almost every wash to no ill effect

Clean right in the seals with a mould cleaner if you've got it. Spray onto old cloth and wipe out.

Then clean the tray. Pipe or bottle cleaners useful here. Soak it in lots of hot soapy water in the sink and scrub it. Some put in dishwasher, I just do it by hand.

Now empty your filter. It'll be full of water, have tray and lots of old/dirty towels to hand. Marvel at finding 20p, lots of fluff and at least one hair elastic in there.

Then clean the machine.

Soda crystals in the drum. Lots. Like, half a bag full.
Zoflora in the conditioner tray.

Run on 90. It'll sort out the pipes and machine.
