How to remove dried blood without bleaching?

I've got a small amount of blood on a dress that is black with a floral pattern. Does anyone know how I could remove it that won't bleach the colours out please?

Soak it in cold water for a day, then wash it on a cold cycle. Hot washes will set the stain.

As long as it's not silk, bio powder on a 30° wash might work.

Soak in cold water with salt.

Cold salt water.

If it's your blood then your own spit might work but if there's a big stain you need a lot!

Cold water soak then put a blob of liquid Ariel, or whatever, on the spot and wash as usual.

I thought salt set stains in? I got blood out of a shirt recently following google advice by soaking in white vinegar. But google recommends vinegar for everything- I reckon google is bankrolled by Sarsons.

I used a vanish bar on some cottom pyjamas recently - wet the stain and rubbed at it a bit, then rubbed on vanish. I used a scrubbing brush on the stain and it vanished before my eyes. I couldn't believe it!

Thanks everyone. I went with white vinegar and looks like it's going to work :-)

For future reference, milk removes blood. Is some kind of an enzyme received. An a and e doctor put me on to it.

I have just got blood off a wool rug with baby wipes. I blotted it as much as possible and then rubbed carefully - it has all gone and the pile is fine. Hopefully it would work on other things - maybe!
