Around the hobs we have dried heated brown stuff which we can't shift. I have some oven pride in the cupboard but DH thinks that I shouldn't use it while being pregnant. Its driving me mad...help

one of those microfibre cloths soaked in boiling water. leave on for a while then scrub. it's worth a try.

hang on... can't you just leave the house and get dh to do it?

sparklygothkat · 29/05/2007 23:25

lol last time he decided to clean the cooker, he took the door off and couldn;t get it back on, as the catches pinged back into place, we had to dismantle the whole door to get to the hinges

I ended up scrubbing it with washing up liquid and a sponge, I managed to get all the burn on stuff off. I then cleaned the whole cooker and then wiped it with oil, it looks lovely now

I'm new to these goodhousekeeping threads, being a sloven usually.....but tonight I cleaned my stainless steel hob using brillo pads, hot water - so hot it was burning through my rubber gloves and a knife and DH's toothbrush to get into all the crevices (I did get him a new toothbrush, BTW!!!! ). It has come up lovely! And after scrubbing it, I wiped it over with the hot soapy water, sprayed some baby oil spray and buffed it with a muslin. I am feeling such a good housewife and wanted to share it with someone
