If you have lots of stairs in your home, what vacuum do you use?

Moving from a ground floor flat with wooden floors to an upper flat (stairs from ground level and another set then from level 1 up to the attic). All rooms apart from kitchen and bathroom are carpeted.

We have a Henry which we rarely use as we sweep and mop. Its heavy, but very good.

I cannot bear the thought of hoiking it up and down stairs. I am only just getting my head around needing to vac more than once a month.

Help! What vacuum is good for lots of stairs?

I actually like the Henry I have now, more than any other vac I've had, as it has a really long hose, so you don't have to try to balance it on a stair, half way up, to be able to reach all the stairs.
I've had other vacs that are smaller / lighter, but they don't have the length of the Henry hose.

Get a dustbuster type thing! I had a black n decker one with a long hose which was great but set my allergies off. I now have a dyson one that's good for allergies but you have to hold the fucking trigger down to keep it switched on so I do NOT recommend that one.

I don't hoover my stairs anymore. I am not completly mobile in my upper body (too outing to specify) but I've learned to be creative with my cleaning. Dustpan brush, brush each step with some elbow grease, top to bottom then hoover the bottom. No lugging a heavy henry up the stairs!

This is so weird, I was just talking about this (yay, Saturday night). I think I'm going to invest in a cordless Dyson.

Maybe I could keep the henry on the main floor and get a dustbuster for the stairs?

Get one with a proper switch that stays on, if you do. Kills the fingers otherwise.

Maddening have you tried a pet hair brush? I has a silicon one from Lakeland that was great for edges and corners of carpets, it's all worn away now though!

I have a cordless Dyson and I love it!

I'm in a townhouse and my cordless vacuum is a godsend! I have a shark one that was on offer in argos, one of those flexi type ones. They are also great for getting under furniture.

We have a townhouse with 2 flights of stairs and a long haired cat. A cordless vacuum just isn’t enough for us.
We have a Sebo upright vacuum which came with a very long extension hose that you plug into the main hose. Whilst the vacuum is quite heavy, we don’t have to lift it much at all as the hose reaches all the way up the stairs

We live in a town house with two flights. I use a cordless v10 Dyson, take the long wand off and put the stair/furniture attachment on. Done in minutes, both flights.

Stairs themselves, I brush. For a taking up and down stairs, I have a Hoover stick which works as well as my Dyson ever did.

I have a Dyson V8 Absolute. It has a mini brush head which is ther perfect size for stairs. I live in a townhouse, so have 5 sets of stairs from the basement to the top floor.
