Does your cleaner do this?

I always leave tea/coffee/squash etc out for my cleaners. (It's a company and 3 ladies come at once). Every time I come back their dirty glasses/mugs/spoons are left in various places over the kitchen worktops. As there's three of them
It's not like it's a single cup left in the corner and forgotten.
I find it odd that I pay them to clean my house and yet they leave their dirty cups out for me to sort? Is this weird or am I being over fussy? Even if they just put them in the washing bowl (or dishwasher!!) but to leave them with half drunk reminents in on the side seems odd.
I'll mention it to them next week but it seems common sense to me.

No that does seem very odd to me tbh and a bit ironic! I would def mention it to them.

N0rfolkEnchants · 27/06/2018 15:35

I don't leave refreshments out for my cleaner but if I did, I'd stop immediately in they were doing this

MunchMunch · 27/06/2018 18:08

So you're cleaning up after the cleaners that you pay to clean up after you?! Hmm As an ex cleaner I think that's unacceptable. They should be leaving your house clean and tidy- exactly what they are paid to do!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 27/06/2018 18:10

No my cleaner doesn’t do this, it’s weird behaviour!

MysteryNameChange · 27/06/2018 18:12

I'm a cleaner and I wouldn't do this. Is it every week? Just thought maybe they meant to clean them up and forgot? Clutching at straws a bit though!

MysteryNameChange · 27/06/2018 18:12

Sorry just seen you said everytime. Very odd!

Cleanerswin · 27/06/2018 18:35

No that’s really out of order. If 3 come at once they can’t be there for long, they don’t need a drink, surely?

Shock

I’m a cleaner and no way would I do this. People always tell me to help myself to tea/coffee. I don’t but I do sometimes take a glass of water and always wash, dry and put it away straight after. How disrespectful of them to leave their dishes for you!

CakesAreGreat · 27/06/2018 21:52

At least I know I'm not being too fussy! I had a cleaner before and I used to leave biscuits as well as tea. My thinking is they'd be more inclined to do an extra good clean if I take care of them whilst they're cleaning for me. Having said that, I'm paying this new company £40 per clean which is top prices where I am in West Mids and I'd expect perfection for that but I had to remind them to clean around back of the toilet after this last clean as they'd just shoved some bleach down there. I'm having no luck finding a decent cleaner. Sad

Angry It's so annoying to clean the mess after your cleaner. I have a cleaner and I am so happy that she has never done this. I think you should comment that weird behaviour with them. You pay enough for cleaning and you deserve more professionalism.
CakesAreGreat · 28/06/2018 13:21

To be honest I'm going to look for a new cleaner. I wouldn't mind paying £40 if I was really happy with the job but I'm not. It's just frustrating. I want a cleaner who is reliable, able to clean properly and consistently (and tidy up their cups!). It all seems obvious but so far I've not had much luck.

Unfortunately a lot of people see cleaning as a job anyone can do and so it can take a while to find someone good. A friend of mine runs an agency and finds it really hard getting good cleaners, there’s plenty of work just not enough skilled reliable staff.
