Washing machine has just died. Recommendations for new machine without a 5 hour cycle?

It's finally happened! It's not working. It's got to be over 10 years old and has been battered. I keep thinking I've found a new one but the cycles when on a full load are all hours and hours long. Can anyone please point me in the direction of a cheap large capacity machine that has relatively short cycles? I know there are quick washes but normally they can't be used at full capacity. Thank you.

10KG, 1400 spin and it features the daily cycle which has full variable temp between cold and 90 degrees and takes around an hour depending on the temperature. You could get away with using daily quick 40 & 60 for almost everything.
Top tip: daily quick on Beko’s skips a rinse. If you do use this cycle, use it with the extra rinse function. It only adds another 5-10 mins on but does the full 3 rinses then.

We’ve got a 9kg Beko one. 40deg daily wash is 51mins I think, 60 is 61mins and if I am really pushed then I’ll sling a 30deg wash on at 39mins.

It’s served us well and was really not very expensive, I think around £250 from Ao.

Samsung echo bubble is rather awesome and can be controlled on your mobile phone etc.

A quick wash is sufficient for all washes except whites. Also investing in quality washing powder/liquid does make a difference with quick washes.

Samsung QuickDrive 9kg, it’s awesome! A cottons wash is just under an hour, the ‘quick wash’ is 37 minutes and pretty effective - if you add a bubble soak it’s an hour and gets anything I’ve thrown at it clean. I don’t think I’ve found a cycle that’s over 2 hours. Not sure it’s really cheap though...

Some (all?) Bosches have a “speed perfect” button - eg on mine a full 60 degree cotton wash is about 2h45 (& that’s the longest) but speed perfect knocks an hour or so off. However like the Bekos it also knocks a rinse off but you can add one back on.

I generally use the mixed load button which is about 1h10 without changing anything.

Mine’s not available any more but it’s an 8kg 1400 spin one - this from John Lewis looks to be similar
