A few questions about making things smell nice.

Sorry, another of these threads! I don’t want to hijack and have a few specific questions if anyone can help.

First, has anyone got ducted vacuuming? I hear lots of talk about using essential oils in a normal vacuum cleaner but will something like that work in a ducted system? Anyone tried?

Essential oils in the laundry! Do you just add it to your wash? Is it true that tumble drying afterwards will get rid of the smell? Could I put a few drops on a cloth in the dryer when I do a load? And if my laundry smells nice my whole house will, right? Wink

I just sprayed my favourite perfume on a wet cloth and threw it in the dryer with the load. It’s not going to catch fire is it? Shock

And now to scents! What scents do you use for your washing if you do use essential oils?

And your home? I have a scented candle that is supposed to smell like a library and it is gorgeous, but DP thinks one that smells like woodfire would be nice (winter here). Would that be overpowering?

Do you change scents through the year to match seasons or just have one you adore all year round?

Thanks for the help and discussion of beautiful smelling homes!

So apparently essential oils are a really bad idea in the dryer:

Before I read this I sprayed my favourite Chanel on a wet cloth and threw it in the dryer. The whole downstairs smells glorious from the little while it was in the dryer but I stopped it and put the whole load on another 60C wash. Sad times. So yeah, all advice about how to make my washing smell nice are welcome. 😂😭😂😭

Do they sell zoflora in your country? If so a capful of that in the washing will achieve what you want. It last through the dryer and comes in lots of lovely seasonal scents.
I also wipe it on the radiators and lampshades, then as they warm up they let off the scent.

They don’t! I’ve heard so much about it on MN though. Smile
