on the website it helpfully tells me that I need a polishing machine

they use it in hospitals, etc a lot

it has little bits embedded in it to make it non-slip and apparently mopping doesn't help clean the edges of them

I had to put some - oh god - bleach on it for a playdoh stain and it all came up a bright lovely colour

rest of it is getting more and more dubious

anyone had this? apart from tipping bleach on it and standing back any suggestions to make it clean?

I didn;t know what it was so googled it and I think its the same stuff we have in our kitchen (HA put it in) I know that its a nightmare to clean our floor and never looks properably clean

Cappuccino · 20/05/2007 20:00

ooh you don't have it for the same reason I do do you?

don't I seem to remember you having a dd with a walking frame?

it is non-slip, right? it was a condition of our disabled facilities grant

sparklygothkat · 20/05/2007 20:03

no, I do have 2 children with CP but everyone in the street has the same crappy flooring. I am sure its the same stuff. We have it in a crappy stone colour in the kitchen and purple in bathroom

Cappuccino · 20/05/2007 20:05

sparklygothkat · 20/05/2007 20:08

have just checked my flooring it defo. have little pieces embedded in it. Would love to know how to clean it.

misdee · 20/05/2007 20:10

i had that stuff in my flat. its a nightmare to clean. in the end i got a scrubbing brush and scrubbed it hard!

sparklygothkat · 20/05/2007 20:11

scrub my kitchen???? Its huge it would take all day!!!

misdee · 20/05/2007 20:12

i know. if your baby is breech do it then.

Cappuccino · 20/05/2007 20:16

yes it says friction is the only way

it advocates a scrubbing machine

that would be me then

what I want to know is how to get it clean once it looks dirty

the website helpfully informs me that the best way to avoid this is not to let it get dirty in the first place

my gran has this in her bathroom (disabled) its really hard to get it looking clean I would love to know how to do it manually without the use of a polishing machine.....I've tried on myhands and knees with a scrubbing brush but didn't make much difference

Cappuccino · 22/05/2007 09:41

maybe we need some hospital types to help

hospitals are full of the stuff

I was thinking of getting this for my kitchen - glad I didn't now!

Cappuccino · 22/05/2007 13:06

oh I do like it

and in its favour it does have lots of flecks in so you can't see the dirt so easily
