I want to clean the slaps in our garden. they are 10 years old and never been cleaned. Any tips how to do it without pressure washer?

Stiff broom and elbow grease.

Depends on how hard you want to work. I recently did mine with soapy water and a really hard bristled scrubbing push - four hours of hard labour and they were fine.

Bottle of Jeyes fluid and a stiff bristled brush. You'll still need to wash them down with a normal hosepipe or buckets of water afterwards.

Bleach and a stiff broom works well too.

Do you mean slabs?

Tobuyornot99 · 29/05/2018 08:03

I just tried this on a quite large area. Neat bleach was the only thing that really worked, with a he'll of a lot of effort. I'll admit I gave up after a few square metres and will be jet washing Sad
Good luck

Neat bleach. Scrub with a stiff brush and leave to dry

I use biological washing powder on mine and a scrubbing brush

You can get patio cleaner from a garden centre that is designed for the job.

I’d be worried about the run off and my plants if I used some of these concoctions on my patio. Wouldn’t it just poison your garden?

Be aware (depending where you are) using bleach for cleaning outside and especially slabs is classed as Chemical contamination. (We live beside/right on a country park and must use friendly cleaners for garden etc).

Anything in a garden store is fine UK wise, power washer is quickest but if not then get a really stiff brush and either Jeyes or Bio washing powder and scrub like crazy.
