Removing blood from sheets?

I stupidly washed my sheets after spraying a bit of varnish oxy and the stains are still there. Is there any product anyone else can recommend?

Do you use bio powder? Try soaking in a sink or bath of cold salted water.

Vanish powder mixed in with cold water and then scrubbed/ soaked in cold water always gets my stains out.

So should I then do this in the sink then wash in main washing machine again?

You may never get it out now, as heat does something to the proteins in blood and sets them in material forever!!! Any protein based stain needs to be washed in cold water.

If they are white sheets you could try soaking them or the stained area in a bleach solution to see if you could bleach out the stain.

dementedpixie · 21/05/2018 17:06

Yes, treat the sheets and then rewash in the machine preferably using bio powder

GummyGoddess · 21/05/2018 17:06

How much blood is there? The heat sets it in but I have had a bit of luck by (gross, sorry) using saliva if it's a small spot. Otherwise I'd suggest dying the sheets a different colour!

I need help with this too, I'm thinking I need to bleach the sheet. Is there a good product that can be used in the machine?

Bright, direct sunshine works wonders believe it or not. I remember trying everything with stained washable nappies and a day out in the sun was the only thing that worked.

Gently rub some salt into the wetted stain and leave it, keep it damp.

Enzyme spray for pet accidents sometimes works, Simple Solution, removes pet stains and odours.

Soak in cold water. Soak stain in lemon juice or neat white vinegar, hang in sunshine.

It will fade in time. Bleach makes whites yellow or breaks the fibres down (not the Oxy type but you could just buy sodium percarbonate which is the cheaper version and can also clean your decking)

ToadOfSadness · 24/05/2018 01:29

Forgot to add, vodka might do it too.

If it is a small stain/droplets put some diluted bleach (50/50) on a cotton bud and just dab at the stain and then wash in cold water.

Ace stain remover bleach is amazing for getting blood out. Just pour it on, it fizzes white on the blood then disappears. Amazing stuff. Wash as normal with bio after and line dry in the sun if possible. Regularly get nosebleeds and this stuff works a treat.
