Sort my kitchen floor out, please! (Pics)

I cannot get my kitchen floor to look sparkly and clean and it's driving me mad.

I sweep all the bits up, hoover over it and then I use CIF floor cleaner and a mop (I have bought two new mops so it can't be them) but they still murky.

What else can I try?

Could be way off here, but in those pics to me it looks like there is a film/build up on them. Were/are they waxed/varnished/polished to make them look shiny? Is it possible the coating of wax is breaking down, so needs to be stripped and redone.

Do you have hard water, is it calcium/mineral buildup from the water deposited on your floors?

If it were me, I’d maybe try removing the film as opposed to cleaning with water and detergent. White vinegar is really good for cutting through any grease/mineral build up. A steam mop perhaps?

One the build up is gone, there used to be some sort of floor shine wax/polish, think it was called Kleer. You mopped it on and it was a mini floor wax that dried to a high gloss shine. I’m not sure if still exists, but I’m sure you could get something similar, I remember seeing liquid pledge for floors in a white bottle, I think that was the same thing.

Can you see why I have wood? 🙈

Found it, I didn’t think it’s made anymore, but there is still some on eBay, but if you look in this screen shot, there is also the Pledge I mentioned, and that also has the word Klear in it. £3.15 at Sainsbury’s too! There are some others further along, but a bit pricier.

Me again, sorry slow Sunday night 🤣

Reading this description and instructions, sounds like just what you need.

@e1y1 thank you for the reply!

You're probably right, I spilt a whole pan of goose fat on the floor months ago and it's never actually looked the same since then when I think about it.

You’re welcome, oops definitely goose fat will cause smearing, be too much for it to make the floor shine wouldn’t it? 🤣

Would then definitely recommend white vinegar and possibly a go over with warm water and washing up liquid to cut through it.
