I think I did quite well really to stay serene when really I was tempted to dig out the receipts (a lot of the stuff is pretty new) and present them to her

Any way - are there any really good products which can remove the dye?

Yes, I can't remember what it's called but there is a kind of powder that you can soak the clothes in. It's really good, it worked for me for a cotton shirt and a swimming costume.

I bought mine from Sainsburys. It was in the laundry section and said something on the packet about rescuing clothes.

Ah - good to hear that it worked

Worked a treat - the shirt was like new, the swimming costume did retain a very faint bluish tinge but is much better than before.

It does have a lot of warnings on the packet though - it's basically just a mild bleach so it can remove some of the "real" colour, iykwim. But having said that, if the clothes are ruined anyway then it's worth a try.

Those products only work if you haven't let the clothes dry yet.

you can get some stuff called stain devil even some chemists sell it,there are various sorts for different stains and one is for mixed washes

Dylon do something called "Run Away" I think . Works well. Took the red dye out of the aqua towel which was washed with the depe red towels - it had been left to dry too (for several weeks - it was after DD was born!) so it does work on dry stuff.

BabyG - my clothes were dry and it still worked. But I would imagine it's probably better if you haven't let the stains dry in.

Ah luckily the stained stuff is wet (sitting in soak in kitchen sink) so time is on my side
