What do you use when you turn the Aga off?

I didn't choose to have one - it came with the house. I've enjoyed using it over the winter but am going to turn it off soon. I have a 4 ring electric hob and a combi microwave - which isn't big enough (there are 6 of us when we are all in the house together). I'm thinking of getting a catering convection oven which can be plonked on the worktop and plugged in, but which is the size of a normal oven.

First world problems etc... but any and all suggestions gratefully received!

We had a normal oven as well as the Aga.

I love my aga so never turn it off - just open all doors and windows when its hot!

Salad, grill, BBQ etc

But we always leave ours on even in summer

Is it oil-fired? If so, you can turn it down, things just take a bit longer to cook when you do. Don't know about gas or propane or electric but guess it's possible.

In case of heatwaves, I have two plug-in Induction hotplates and an Andrew James Halogen Oven. I don't turn mine off unless it's going to be well over 23 degrees C outside for the foreseeable future. This time of year it's warm in the daytime but still needed for its background warmth in the evenings and throughout the night.

I hate having to switch it off.

We have another oven too, which I then forget I have to actually turn on to work for a good few weeks! I turn ours off for about 3 months as our kitchen is a ah trap and couldn’t have it on all summer. You can do a lot of pasta dishes on the hob, steak and salad, fish and salad etc?

Slow cooker, bread maker and electric hob. And barbecue when the weather allows (who knew you could make pizza on a bbq!).

Is it gas? If you turn it off it can be difficult to restart so you will have to pay for someone to come out to do that. I never turn mine off, only turn it down to the pilot light when we’re on holiday. Agree with pp, my kitchen is never unbearably hot even in a heatwave!
