Don't know where to post this…
Has anyone done a movie in their garden? If so, did you use a plain white sheet as the screen? Does it matter what quality the sheet is?
Any tips welcome…thanks.

I hope you live in the middle of a field a long way from any neighbours.

High thread count Egyptian cotton may give a better picture quality than brushed bri-nylon.

thanks ChippyMinton. I was wondering about blackout lining, but it might not be white enough.

A quick google reveals a wealth of knowledge!! It appears the screen quality is only the start of it! Sounds like fun though Smile

thats a good article Thanks. We've got the projector, got the fairy lights, the picnic rugs and blankets, trying to find some hay bales for seats.

So I think I'll get some blackout material then.

That sounds amazing! I've always wanted my own private outdoor cinema, shame my garden is too small..

Sorry not very helpful!

ICantCopeAnymore · 21/04/2018 22:03

No, because we have neighbours.

Sounds great. Maybe some citronella candles to deter the bugs.

Got some of those tall ones on sticks. I'm going to provide sleeping bags and hot water bottles in case it gets too cold. the kids are 13yrs old so are fairly hardy. Oh, and popcorn of course!

Hi @whatatod0. I spotted your thread and thought I'd share a guide to setting up an outdoor theater that a company I've been working with has recently published.

If you have a good projector, it should be fine to use on a white sheet or a wall. It does depend a lot on the projector that you will be using.

Secondly, if you do decide to opt for a sheet, try to use one that appears as solid as possible.

You could always use a makeshift white wall, White cardboard, or a whiteboard if you have one to hand. Or you can just buy a screen that's easy to setup and pull down.

Another option is to just have a TV that you can easily wheel outdoors.

Anyway, I hope that this helps. Smile
