Magnetic slime on duvet cover?!!

My delightful child has brought his slime in but instead of taking back to its tin, has wandered off to his next activity leaving a ball of slime on my bed. That ball is now a large splat and whist I’ve scraped it off it’s let a huge green mark. Any tips before I tackle it? Maybe it’ll wash out - hope so as it’s on my bestest duvet cover!!

No solution but keen to see if anyone else does. Dd stained some expensive trousers with this as well I haven't had any luck getting it out yet.

It’s hateful stuff. Creeping around when nobody is watching like some alien being...humph

I threw ours out as I read about toxic levels of arsenic and lead being found in them. Do take care.

Was going to say the same as above. I got some for DS for Xmas then didn’t give it to him as I subsequently read that the product is potentially very harmful and had been recalled?

Juicyfrooty · 01/04/2018 16:35

It was an unnamed brand sold on Amazon and eBay that was found to contain arsenic it's been removed from sale I think. Dd's is the Nickelodeon stuff from the entertainer.

I've taken it away from her anyway, she's just not careful enough with and I'm not having her ruin any more clothes with it.

I asked DH as he's a chemistry prof. Best he could come up with is to try glycerol, if you have any in the baking cupboard, or lemon juice may help dissolve it. But he stressed the 'may'.

Polkadot1974 · 01/04/2018 20:50

Is glycerol like gycerine?! I have that

My darling DS did the same, I sprayed it with wd40 and then did a hot wash which got it all out.

MimpiDreams · 02/04/2018 09:28

Yes glycerine. He said it may turn it back into it's original state ie not slime.

Polkadot1974 · 03/04/2018 22:58

I have both WD40 and glycerine so wish me luck! Thank you

Come back and let us know if either worked

Daftness · 05/04/2018 00:22

My DD "forgot" her putty on the arm of the fabric sofa! I used WD40 and scraped it with a blunt knife. Took over an hour but got it all off, it didn't even leave a stain.
