What’s a reasonable amount for a cleaner to do in two hours?

Am thinking of getting a cleaner as I’m due to finish maternity leave soon. We have a two bed flat, large open plan living room and hall, small kitchen and one bathroom. Would it be reasonable to ask someone to clean kitchen and bathroom, then dust and hoover round everywhere else in two hours, plus then doing another job - eg one week changing both beds, another cleaning the fridge etc. I think I could do it in that time if I worked at it (and wasn’t continually interrupted by two small children), but I am notoriously shit at housework so don’t consider myself to be a good benchmark Blush. I don’t want to ask for or expect too much, but equally have had experience in the past of a cleaner just doing the bare minimum and buggering off after 40 minutes when she was paid for two hours, so I don’t want to ask for too little either. Grateful for any thoughts?

I think what you’re describing is possibly reasonable, if the person works quickly and you don’t have too many “big jobs” on the weekly list eg cleaning woodwork or inside fridge etc.

I used to live in a 2 bed flat and cleaner could do it all in 2 hours but it was just me and husband so 2nd bedroom didn’t get used and house was kept pretty clean. Now I have 4 bed house and 2 children and cleaner takes 4 hours every week, and she works v quickly.

Although I am not a professional cleaner, I do clean for my elderly neighbour every week to help him out. In 2 hours I can clean kitchen, bathroom, downstairs loo, dust and hoover and do one extra job if we haven’t chatted too much!

I also dust skirting boards and tops of doors etc. He lives in a 3 bed semi and there is just him living there.

If you flat is tidy it should be manageable in that time.

I do my parents house. Takes me about 1 hour 45 mins.
3 bed house with biggish kitchen and a messy dining room (my dads had a stroke and now makes a mess!)
I hoover and dust everywhere, change 2 beds, clean bathroom and kitchen and mop both floors. Plus drink tea and tend to my ds.
Id say yours is definitely doable in the time

Definitely doable! I live in a 3 bed house, my cleaner comes every week for 2 hours and does kitchen, bathroom and downstairs loo, dusting and vacuuming everywhere else. She then rotates some jobs like cleaning oven door and dusting picture rails.
