Euro Disney

Am thinking of taking the kids to Euro Disney this year for a short break. Any tips on doing it on a budget and accommodation rather than the expensive hotels.

Book the hotels direct with the company. We got a Holiday Inn (Disney recommended) for 60euro a night (room only). That way, you can use the free shuttles form the hotels to the park. We saved £30 on park tickets by buying them before we went through a company called Unpackaged Attractions. That way you avoid the initial entrance queue when you get there. We also flew Prestwick to Beauvais and hired a car (£80 for the flights and £100 for the car) and drove to the park. An okay idea if you can cope with driving round the outskirts of Paris and have good navigational skills.

It saved us a fair bit I think.

Thank you both for the helpful tips. Muminfife you make it sound great fun, the whole visit not just Disney. I will be discussing this all with hubby. Again a big thank you.

Another vote for Holiday Inn. The rooms are a decent size and the beds SO SO comfortable (necessary after a day on your feet)

They have a cute little curtained off area for the childrens bed area to close it off and they have their own tv in there too. DD is still talking about it 18 months later. Big, quiet hotel with a view of a lake. The free shuttle bus is very regular every 5-15 mins depending on season and stops at the hotel taking you straight to the park. It is a pink bendy bus which DD loved too.

We drove and parked free at the hotel. We only actually used our car once, to go to the big shopping mall and hypermarche nearby for supplies.

You could also have a look at the travel section for more tips, for some reason this post is in good housekeeping!
