For bathroom, kitchen and elsewhere?

Dettol Power and Pure Kitchen spray. Cuts through spillages (even dried weetabix) in seconds. Definitely my go to kitchen cleaner.

Mrswoollyfromwoollylane · 04/03/2018 23:02

Thanks I'll have to try that.

Does anyone use any kind of furniture polish? I just dust with a damp microfibre then dry cloth but wonder if I'm doing it wrong.

White vinegar on windows. I buy mine from the pound shop.

PaperdollCartoon · 04/03/2018 23:08

Method everything - only ones I don’t seem to be allergic to and don’t have to put gloves on before using. Plus not tested on animals, looks good if left out on the side and all smell divine.

I don’t generally use antibacterials except when cleaning something horrendous (like something that’s been outside for a while) because they’re really not good for us and killing the few bad microbes kills all the good ones as well.

Except for loo bleach which is from Aldi and used almost daily.

Appuskidu · 04/03/2018 23:13

Method shower spray
Method almond wooden floor cleaner
Blue Harpic cleaner for toilets
Splosh pomegranate kitchen spray
Splosh laundry fabric conditioner
Hob brite and shiny sinks
Magic eraser for shower screens
Baby oil for stainless steel
Sugar soap spray for tiles/woodwork

duffaho · 04/03/2018 23:15

Elbow grease - the yellow liquid in a spray. Takes off all sorts of greasiness with little scrubbing.

Pob13 · 04/03/2018 23:16

@Appuskido baby oil for stainless steel?! Like on kitchen sinks? Please give more detail. This could be a complete game changer!

Cleanerswin · 05/03/2018 19:39

Stardrops. Ordinary orange one. And starpro, the professional version of stardrops, they do a few different sprays and they’re all good.

missmouse101 · 05/03/2018 19:44

Cif cream! Nothing like it! Under rated imo!!😁

mommybear1 · 06/03/2018 11:22

I use baby oil on brushed stainless steel or chrome it gives it a lovely shine but doesn't clean it per se. I tend to only use it when we have visitors - so I appear to be a shiny housekeeper Wink

I love the Method anti bacterial spray. It smells of grapefruit and really freshens the kitchen up, especially after cooking.

Zoflorabore · 06/03/2018 21:53

Elbow grease spray
Bar Keepers friend power cream
Lord Sheraton leather balsam
Method almond floor cleaner
Mr muscle glass cleaner
Xanto polish
Domestos bleach for toilet
Dettol spray for sink and worktops
Zoflora Grin of course

Various home made concoctions involving white vinegar/baking soda/essential oils

I love cleaning products!

Ski40 · 06/03/2018 23:01

Method clementine kitchen spray and wash up liquid, glass cleaner, lavender multipurpose cleaner, Pledge, Country Garden Zoflora. I like the scents and they help my asthma.
I also mix essential oils in water sprays for a quick freshen up where a proper clean is not needed yet.

ColdFeetAndHotCakes · 06/03/2018 23:05

Ecover washing up liquid - doesn't irritate mine or DPs skin unlike lots of others.

White vinegar - use it everywhere, windows, surfaces, with a bit of bicarb for stubborn things, and it melts off the horrible orange stuff that builds up in the grout in the bathroom which blows my mind.

GinnyBaker · 06/03/2018 23:08

Ski40 I have the method clementine washing up liquid and its absolutely crap...what am I doing wrong? Do you just squirt it into the hot water and it works?

Sarahh2014 · 06/03/2018 23:11

Flash lemon kitchen spray
Zoflora concentrated disinfectant

Day to day, I use nearly entirely method products. I have to say though that I do find the washing up liquid (and clothes washing liquid) to be crap. I refill my method washing up liquid with either magnum from aldi or fairy liquid, as I like the dispensing method of the method container.
I've found that Asda lemon flash alternative is the only thing that seems to really shift the grime from the top of kitchen cupboards.

I've been using a spray mop recently and it's been a total game changer for me when it comes to cleaning floor. So much less faffing around and gets the job done in a couple of minutes with no mess. Grin

BlueEyedBengal · 16/03/2018 19:21

I love using stardrops multi purpose cleaner I have used it for everything from a kitchen and bathroom all rounder to washing the green off the patio slabs (which it does very swiftly with a broom. I used to get it in Asda's until 18 month ago they stopped stocking it with a web search I found Willos stocked it (panic over!) I would recommended it. It has been fully tested by myself a mother of 6 kids, 5 of them boys and it also washes carpets and sofas and does the dishes!

Ski40 · 16/03/2018 22:51

@GinnyBaker apologies, I hadn't seen your post directed at me until now 🙂
I admit it's not as good as Fairy for heavy duty washing up, but I mainly use the dishwasher for most things and only handwash delicate glasses or the odd non stick pan. I would say the hotter the water the better but I always squirt the product directly onto the scouring pad, scrub and rinse under the tap. Things come out Ok.
I only switched to Method because I thought it might be kinder on my asthma. I still admit Fairy is a better cleaner though ... so you are not doing anything wrong xx

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 16/03/2018 22:57

Astonish all purpose and astonish grease off for the hob. Absolutely brilliant products - very cheap, way better than anything else I've used including flash and cif and everything and they're environmentally friendly and not tested on animals.
